Financial Aid Eligibility
In order to qualify for any of the federal student aid programs, you must meet the following basic requirements:
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Be enrolled as a regular student working toward a degree program offered by Western International University
- Have a valid Social Security number
- Be registered with Selective Service if you are a male between the ages of 18 and 25, and were born after December 31, 1959
- Must maintain satisfactory academic progress
- Must meet requirements for default and overpayment status, aggregate limits, incarceration, and drug convictions

The amount of eligibility is based on the number of credits that transfers in toward your WIU degree program.
Financial Aid Award Levels
Total financial aid from all sources may not exceed the cost of attendance.
Based on eligibility, the maximum allowed for Stafford Loans is:
Undergraduate
- Level 1 - $9,500 (0-23 credits)
- Level 2 - $10,500 (24-47 credits)
- Level 3 - $12,500 (48 credits and up)
Graduate
- $20,500
